Autumn
CALEEBRA HER WINTER SOLSTICE (AI)
Pinch me I'm dreaming.
Finally, I'm hoping to welcome the offspring of Hessu and Autumn at the end of July
I have been a fan of Hessu from the first moment I saw him. That was a very long time ago and Hessu passed away of old age quite a few years ago.
The marvel of modern science mean he can still contribute to the gene pool and I get the opportunity to meet his kids, finally. Hessu was exported from Finland to the UK where his steady temperament immediately had him running things and looking after his family of dogs. He was shown in the UK, sired a couple of litters before retiring to the quiet life. An absolute gentleman of a dog.
Autumn is a bit of an enigma. She's both soft and confident. She attends work with her owner and has had so many opportunities to learn how to put up with rude dogs she knows which ones are going to be idiots from a distance and will avoid them entirely. She doesn't tolerate poor manners very well and will take herself away from the situation rather than subject herself to it. If only we could all just walk away from idiots. She's got a real dislike for 'oodles which I find endlessly amusing. Clearly some dogs can stereotype.
Her first litter of 4 were all boys and she raised them with grace and 100% commitment. It took weeks for me to convince her she didn't have to stay with them the whole time and even after they were completely weaned, I'd find her in their exercise yard, napping with them. She and her Mum Winter, spent a lot of time with those babies, teaching them all the important life lessons.
I'm hopeful that she'll do the same again with this litter but I'm hoping she'll grace me with a few girls this time. Fingers crossed
