Melbourne Royal 2022
Anarchy went through a horrendous phantom throughout June and July. What a nightmare. She put on a bunch of fluid weight, lost her waist and fully believed she was having a litter of puppies.
of course, I knew better, but i couldn't convince her body of that. Some females seem to have less obvious signs or zero outward symptoms, but not my girls. They go 'all-in'.
I hope that means she'll make a great Mum one day.
As we moved out to property and aren't as close to the showgrounds, the dogs spend more time exploring and meeting the wildlife: mice, lizards, antechinus and bunnies, foxes, wombat, possums, ducks. Though fun for the dogs I haven't ever thought of posting about it before. Perhaps i should have. But this is a Finnish Lapphund breed website. Not about adventures with wildlife.
Still regaining condition she entered a weekend of shows and gave a good account of herself.

Attended the Royal Melbourne Show - her first big public event thanks to Covid and other plans. She did so great in such a new and unfamiliar environment.
She wasn't to the judges style but he couldn't deny she's pretty special. - 2nd place Open Bitch
She had a hard time staying awake with everyone walking past whispering 'Oh, she's so pretty.' which absolutely required her to give them a smile. In the end, i let her sneak backstage for a nap. Poor poppet.
It's an enormous day with a long drive and I don't tend to have enough dogs to enter to grab the judges attention. I often don't bother entering the Royal. Royal judges are often looking for something a little more 'generic show dog' which might be why we tend to do better under breed specialists and international judges more familiar with the breed.
It's just not an important date on my calendar. But we gave it a go and Anarchy gave a fantastic account of herself. She's pretty special and I love her.
