We've had the good fortune to have Bullet, aka Storm, with us for a few weeks. Unfortunately a change in his families circumstances meant he would be looking for a new home, and I brought him back home to get to know him as a grown up so we could find the right family for him.
He is such a happy puppy, always smiling and trying to play. Interested in being with us mostly and none to happy to be separated, he learnt the house rules quickly and impressed me with how quickly he caught onto the individual personalities of the dogs and people at home. A very quick study and just so happy to be doing things with his people, I had people enquiring about him and coming to visit him without ever needing to advertise and actively look for a home. An enquiry with another breeder was passed my way and i got talking to a lovely couple from Jindabyne in NSW. I was immediately sad because though they sounded perfect I wasn't going to send him interstate on a trial without them meeting first. But in a happy coincidence they were planning a trip to Victoria just a few weeks later.
I think its safe to say it was love at first sight. The smiles on their faces and the immediate connection with him and us made it much easier to contemplate sending him interstate.
I'd taken to calling him Puppy (partly because i call all our Puppies 'Puppies' (collective) and even the adults get the collective 'Puppies' and he immediately responded to it whereas he was ignoring me at least half the time when i called him Storm. Perhaps he recalled being called that when he was here as a baby.
His new owners were after a new name, and after having met him, decided on Happy. I don't know if it was because it was so close to Puppy that he'd adjust quickly or that was just a coincidence, but I couldn't think of a more suitable name for the smiling boy.
And so just a few short days later, he was off on new adventures. We've already been regaled with stories and been sent lots of photos of our Happy boy enjoying his new home.
These are just a few of the photos from the time he was back with us. As you can see, he's always smiling.
