Mischa is our first Finnish Lapphund and was truly an amazing introduction to the breed. Her focus and love of training was limitless. Whilst she can be a little more reserved around strangers, she's very affectionate with her family and those she adopts as family. Everyone who meets her thinks she's a sweetheart and I've had numerous dog people want to steal her away because of her fantastic work ethic. She makes it easy to own a working dog. Her true love is obedience and trick-training and having attained her (two) conformation titles we turned our attention to this. We are having a lot of fun working and playing together. Mischa considers training to be a lot of fun.Her first real show career highlight came about on 28th Sept 2011 at the Royal Melbourne Show, Mischa was awarded Reserve Bitch Challenge. She came 2nd to her grand-dam Emmi and later competed against her sire Alaska for Runner-Up Best of Breed. 

Having been diagnosed with GRD, and having made the decision not to breed with her, Mischa was desexed on the 24th October 2011.
She gained her Neuter Champion Conformation Title on the 24th November 2012. 
It seems nothing can stop this girl, Mischa has now powered her way through Rally Obedience, earning her Rally Novice, Advanced and Excellent Titles. We decided not to pursue further titles in Rally with Mischa after the rule change. Some of the stations really weren't ideal for her and I elected to let her sleep in on weekends instead which she thought was just the best idea yet.
Mischa also earned her Herding Instinct Certificate on the 5th May 2013 but at the time it was decided not to pursue this further. She loves being close to her people, and while she showed the instinct to move the sheep, you could see that she didn't really love it as much as she loved being closer to her people. She'd take any opportunity to return to me and was just waiting for me to say it was over so we could be reunited.
Being retired from sports, but with too much personality to leave her sitting idle on the couch, Mischa made a comeback into the show ring. She's absolutely loving all the attention and it seems the judges are loving her too. She's racked up a handful of Neuter in Group awards and even converted a couple to Neuter in Show.
